An innovative startup take on hands on education.

Reimagining the birds and the bees discussion.

The client had the Initiative to create a product that would innovate and shape relationships and sexuality education for young people in New Zealand. This idea aimed to provide a "one-stop-shop" for young people to access accurate and useful information and resources, removing the awkwardness and allowing young people to explore what they want, when they want, on their own device in their own time. The app used a four phase research, design, build and then launch approach.

Research, design, build and launch

The research phase of this project was mostly completed by the client. From here, we were approached to build out a user journey of how the young people would want to use the app. This was then developed into wireframes and then a design system was applied. With this all being done in Figma, a working prototype was developed so that the key stakeholders could see it in action. Once the development of the app was reaching the beta stage it was passed around user testing groups where it received great feedback. As of 2022, it is being used within small test groups to judge reaction, iterate on content, and gain further support from organisations such as the Ministry of Health in New Zealand.

Success and the future of the campaign

The campaign was also supported by a successful social media campaign that was rolled out across five additional languages to reach a range of different audiences around the EMEA area. The campaign generated 400% more views than originally planned, and the client was incredibly pleased with the results. They plan to continue the campaign in the coming years and build off the platform that was created.
